The Center for Educator Compensation Research has responded to district and state educational agency calls for a more
comprehensive understanding of the assessment choices district and states have made. We are in the process of developing a
census of assessments being provided by all US states and selected districts. Our goal is to capture innovative approaches
these education agencies have taken to implement assessments in grades, subjects, and languages, not required under the
Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965, as Amended.
The collection of this data is ongoing. We will publish additional states and districts as the data is available.
We will also include detailed reports that include technical information about the assessments (reliabilities,
number of items of different types, etc.) as well as the segment of the student population that falls under each
The detailed reports will be linked to the individual LEA/SEA reports as well as discoverable by type and
target population. Please provide feedback to firstname.lastname@example.org.
